Are Samsung HDTVs Worth Their Premium?

Many consumers realize really fast that Samsung HDTVs carry a certain price premium to its average competitors such as Philips or Toshiba.  That premium in percentage might not look so big, but since the cost of HDTVs is still sizable, even a small percentage may translate into few hundred dollars difference.

The first important aspect to consider is that not all HDTVs are the same.  Even those that are capable of displaying true 1080p do not all do it at the same frequency, and higher frequency will always offer better quality and higher cost.

Also important to note is that Samsung always includes latest features and technology in its top models such as wireless links of TV and PCs or build in TV cameras for direct Skype connection.  This translates to huge spike in price.  If you are ready to wait, many of these advanced features will become standard in TVs of the future.  But just do not expect that to happen in a year or two.  Most likely, it will take 3 or 4 years.

So if you really want latest and the best, then you should definitely consider Samsung.
